About the Speaker

FinMechanics provides solutions and services to the capital markets, treasury and risk departments of financial institutions and corporates. Our team of financial technology practitioners has helped Trading Floors and Risk Departments of financial institutions and corporates in implementing best practices, setting up risk frameworks, managing system implementations and enabling process re- engineering. Our solutions enable the front office and CVA/FVA desks of banks with accurate pricing and risk management tools in the post financial crisis world. Born out of years of hands-on experience in this space working with leading market participants, FinMechanics, since its start in 2007, has worked with global and regional banks in the Asia Pacific region. Our highly motivated team with their keen commitment towards solving client’s problems have built strong and lasting relationships with them.

Abstract

This talk will give an introduction to FinMechanics, including our company history, clients, various projects on-going and what kinds of people we are looking for. A few NUS alumni will come and share their work experience and learnings in FinMechanics. Shortly after the talk and refreshments, tests will be given to students and the topics will include Number Theory, Probability & Statistics, Calculus, Data Interpretation, Algorithms, Programming and Finance Concepts. Students who excel in the tests will be shortlisted for the coming interviews. We have a wide range of opportunities in our company, and are open for positions like quant, developer, business analyst, and consultant, depending on applicants’ strength and interests. This recruitment talk includes a presentation (1 hour), break with refreshments (0.5 hours), and test (2-3 hours). Registration is required.
