Students who are interested in research have the opportunity to engage in independent learning and research with UROPS (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme in Science). This programme affords a student the chance to delve into topics that may not be present in the regular curriculum.
NUS encourages its students to broaden their experience through spending time abroad at one of its 300 partner universities across 40 countries. A variety of programmes with different duration and structures awaits – NUS Overseas College, Student Exchange, Summer and Winter Immersion, Research Attachment, Study Trips for Engagement and Enrichment.
While internship is not part of the curriculum requirements for students reading Major in Mathematics/Quantitative Finance, students are encouraged to proactively source for holiday internships to enhance their learning experience, which would be useful when they join the workforce. Apart from sourcing for their own, students may also tap on existing resources such as holiday internships under NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduate, and the Undergraduate Professional Internship Programme (UPIP) managed by the Faculty of Science.
